Pre-Care & After-Care Instructions

Permanent Makeup (PMU)

Both pre-care and after-care instructions are essential for your health and safety, as well as for optimal pigment retention and long-term results.

Please read all instructions carefully. If you have any questions or concerns, contact your technician prior to your appointment.

Pre-Appointment Care Requirements

To ensure the best possible results, please follow these guidelines:

  • No alcohol 48 hours prior to your procedure.

  • No caffeine the morning of your procedure.

  • No Botox within 2 weeks of your appointment.

  • No dermal fillers within 4 weeks of your appointment.

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning for 1 week prior.

  • Do not take Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Advil, or Ibuprofen 24 hours prior (unless medically necessary and prescribed).

  • Discontinue Glycolic treatments, chemical peels, and Retin-A 4 weeks prior.

  • Avoid Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) products near the treatment area 2 weeks before and 2 weeks after your procedure. Check moisturizers, cleansers, primers, BB/CC creams, and makeup for ingredients containing acids.

  • Discontinue Retinol and strong active skincare products 1 month prior.

  • No brow waxing or tinting 1 week prior.

  • Accutane must be discontinued for at least 1 year prior to treatment.

  • Discontinue use of Latisse (lash growth serum) 4 weeks prior to treatment in the treatment area.

Lash Line Enhancement Clients

All eyelash extensions and strip lashes must be removed at least 1 week prior to your appointment to avoid irritation.

Lip Blush Clients

If you have ever experienced cold sores, you are required to begin an antiviral medication 7 days before and continue 7 days after your Lip Blush appointment.

Please note: You may experience increased sensitivity during your menstrual cycle.

After-Care Requirements

Proper aftercare is critical for pigment retention and healing.

  • For the first 24 hours, gently blot the treated area with a clean, dry cotton round.

  • For the first 5 days, gently cleanse the area using a damp cotton round. Discontinue after day five to prevent premature scab removal.

  • If recommended (Powder or Ombre Brows only), apply a rice-sized amount of ointment in the evening only.

  • Do not pick or scratch scabs. Flaking and light scabbing are a normal part of healing.

  • Avoid excessive sweating, long hot showers, swimming, or excess moisture to the area for 14 days.

  • Do not apply makeup or skincare products directly on the treated area until fully healed.

Pre-Care & After-Care Instructions

Proper preparation and aftercare are essential for your safety, comfort, and optimal results.

Please read all instructions carefully prior to your appointment. If you have any medical conditions, recent sun exposure, or questions about your suitability, contact the clinic before your treatment.

Pre-Treatment Care Requirements

To ensure safe and effective treatment, please follow these guidelines:

  • Avoid sun exposure and tanning (including self-tanner) for at least 2 weeks prior to treatment.

  • Do not undergo treatment on recently sunburned skin.

  • Discontinue use of Retinol, Retin-A, AHAs, BHAs, and strong active skincare products in the treatment area 5–7 days prior (or as advised).

  • Avoid chemical peels or aggressive exfoliation in the treatment area for 2 weeks prior.

  • Do not wax, pluck, or thread hair in the treatment area for 4 weeks prior to Laser Hair Removal. (Shaving is permitted.)

  • Avoid blood-thinning medications (such as Aspirin or Ibuprofen) 24 hours prior, unless medically necessary and prescribed.

  • Inform your technician of any new medications, especially antibiotics or photosensitizing medications.

  • Arrive with clean skin — no makeup, lotions, oils, deodorant, or skincare products in the treatment area.

For Laser Hair Removal Clients

Shave the treatment area 24 hours before your appointment. Do not wax or pluck.

For Tattoo Removal Clients

Keep the area free of lotions and sun exposure prior to treatment.

Post-Treatment Care Requirements

After laser treatments, mild redness, warmth, or swelling is normal and temporary.

  • Avoid sun exposure for 2 weeks after treatment and apply SPF 30+ daily.

  • Do not use hot tubs, saunas, steam rooms, or engage in intense exercise for 24–48 hours.

  • Avoid exfoliating, retinol, or active skincare in the treated area for 5–7 days (or as directed).

  • Keep the area clean and moisturized with a gentle, fragrance-free product.

  • Do not pick, scratch, or irritate the treated area.

  • For Tattoo Removal, mild scabbing or blistering may occur — this is part of the normal healing process. Allow it to heal naturally.

Pigmented areas treated with IPL may appear darker before gradually lightening and flaking away over 7–14 days.

Treatment Plans & Expectations

Laser treatments are performed in a series for optimal results. The number of sessions required varies depending on skin type, treatment area, pigment depth, and individual goals.

Your technician will create a personalized treatment plan during your consultation.
